Rotary Limit Switches

Geared Rotary Limit Switches from Industrial Power & Control are worm gear reduction switches that provide control to rotating drive equipment. After a specified number of revolutions (field settable), a rotary cam makes mechanical contact with the switch actuator and the electrical contacts change state. Ratios from 1:1 to 1:9400 are available to meet your specific needs. Units come standard with up to 12 contacts. All rotary limit switches are rated for 3 A at 250 VAC, and have environmental protection to IP65.

Transmission and gear driving shafts are made of stainless steel to prevent oxidation and wear. The gear wheels and the driving bushings are made of a self-lubricating thermoplastic material, chosen to reduce wear and maintain accuracy. Sintered bronze bushings are molded into the base of the limit switch to optimize the shaft rotation and prevent wear with the plastic base material.

MF2C

A worm gear and a helical gear combine with one or more straight gears to transfer rotational position from the input shaft to the output shaft. Revolution ratios ranging from 1:1 to 1:150 are available for MF2C. Two switch and three switch configurations are available. Overall dimensions (153mm x 68mm x 80mm) make MF2C popular for installation where space is a consideration. Transmission and gear driving shafts are made of stainless steel to prevent oxidation and wear. The gear wheels and the driving bushings are made of a self-lubricating thermoplastic, chosen to minimize wear. MF2C is rated for 1,000,000 revolutions, 3 Amps at 250 Volts with operating temperatures between -25°C and +70°C. The equipment is not suitable in potentially explosive environments, in the presence of corrosive agents or where there is a high concentration of sodium chloride.
